Stefano Bondi

- FROM THE RESTAURANT TO THE TROTTING TRACKS -

Stefano is a force of nature.

An entrepreneur constantly on the move, always driven by enthusiasm and his great passions.

In 1977, he founded "Trattoria Zà Zà" a project that grew over the years to become one of the most famous and iconic historic restaurants in all of Florence.

Today, in addition to being a reference point for his restaurant team, composed of over 200 employees, he dedicates every moment of his free time to his greatest passion: horses.

From a young age, he was captivated by the world of equestrianism and horse racing. However, he wasn't just an enthusiast; he immersed himself completely in it, becoming, over the years, an internationally renowned trotting horse driver.

In 2008, he fulfilled his great dream: in Paris, he won the Prix de Saint-Claude, a prestigious European title.

“Riding my horse, Defrost,

I crossed the finish line in front of thirty thousand people.

An incredible cheer, which I can still hear when I close my eyes.

Even today, after so many years, thinking back gives me chills.

An indescribable feeling.”

“And in 2011 I almost did it again…

…second in a photo finish!

We spent a day with Stefano at a breeding center, where some of the more than 40 splendid horses of his stable train to compete, one day, in Grand Prix events around the world.

Listening to his stories, about his beloved horses and the world of equestrianism, we sensed a pure and unstoppable passion. A unique bond between man and animal, comparable, perhaps, only to a great love story.
